These are tinted graphite pencils with just a hint of color. They are very easy to use, blend well, and according to the box are also water soluble but I haven't tried them in that format yet. They add just enough color to be non-threatening, but can add a new dimension to your Zentangles.
This weeks Diva Challenge was to use the new official tangle Fife. Fife is a great tangle because not only is it easy and fast, but it has the potential for tons of tangleations. Here is the tile I created using Fife and my new Graphitint pencils.
| Tangle: Fife |
As is the case with many of my tiles, I started out with one vision and ended up with something totally different. When I saw that this tile was heading towards being a monotangle I knew that each ribbon would need something to define it and that's where my new Graphitint pencils came into play. I love the result!
Wouldn't you love to try these Graphitint pencils? As a celebration of the massive response I received to the publication of the steps for my first tangle Socc I am giving away a set of 12 Derwent Graphitint Pencils. Here's how to enter to win:
1. Become a follower of this blog.
2. Follow the blog by email.
3. Provide a link back from your blog or list this blog in your blogroll.
4. Create a tile using my tangle Socc and provide a link in the comments section.
5. If you are already a follower or receive this blog by email, leave me a comment letting me know.
Leave me a comment letting me know which one of the options above you have chosen. You must leave a separate comment for each option above if you would like to be entered multiple times, i.e. if you become a follower and list me in your blog roll please leave two comments for two chances to win.
I will post a winner on Monday December 12 and the winner will have until midnight on December 14 to claim their prize.

ReplyDeleteDear Erin, I joined your group but must admit that I am still very dumb when it comes to other sites. I will however send your blog address to my new students here in South Africa. I have used Derwents inctense pencils in my tangles mixed with a little bit of water and it came out great. Graphite tint should also be a wonderful edition.
ReplyDeleteHi Erin, found you courtesy of Terrie...Derwent are the best! I have the Inktense collection and have been eyeing the Graphitint ones for a while! Do yourself a favour and water them next time...it opens up a whole new creative door! I will try your tangle, as I'm always looking for new ones! (My blog if you're interested is: http://creativeadventures-pennyb.blogspot.com/)
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for a few weeks, as I just started practicing tangles in the past 2 months. I'm now officially a follower! I'm with you, I love the black & white but these Derwent Graphitints are lovely to look at. I'd love to win a set. Thanks for the give-away!

ReplyDeleteErin - I became a follower... shoot, why not, I look at your entry every week anyway and LOVE SOCC so much! The pencils look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI also added you to the blogroll over at Cut'n It Up! I bet the pencils would work well as watercolor pencils. I have some Aquarelle pencils and they are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteJust to be redundant... I posted a tangle with a big section of SOCC just the other day (last one in the post)
ReplyDeletehttp://cutnitup.blogspot.com/2011/11/playing-catch-up.html
and it is in my challenge entry this week also! I can hardly do a tangle these days without at least thinking about using it.
I love the slight coloring of those pencils! I follow with GFC :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm an email follower, have been for a while
ReplyDeleteFollowing! Also will link to your blog from mine when hubby teaches me how to do the bloglist on the side of my blog...that is happening over Christmas vacation. Love your tangle!
